IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Have you ever hesitated to participate in an activity because it puts you out of range of a restroom

Have you ever hesitated to participate in a fitness/physical activity because it puts you out of range of a restroom

Is where or how far you walk/bike or jog ever affected by the possibility of not finding a public restroom?

Does the closing of public toilet facility for the winter affect you ability to walk/bike or jog at that time of year.

Do you ever avoid fluids (drinking water for example) to participate in an activity that take place where there are no toilet facilities

Are you willing to use a portable sanitation unit (porta-potty)

If no to above, would you be willing to use a portable sanitation unit if you were certain it was clean.

 

SHOPPING

Large stores such as WalMart or an enclosed Mall have restrooms but at some downtown business districts public amenities may be difficult to find.  

Would you hesitate to shop in an area where, if the need arose, it might be difficult to a toilet?

Are you more willing to shop for long periods at locations where you know there will be no problem finding and being allowed to use the restroom.

Compared to a store where the restrooms are walk in,  are you every uncomfortable asking a clerk for permission to use a restroom.

Some store restrooms are located in 'non-customer' areas often behind doors suggesting 'employee only' or 'authorized personal only'

Are you hesitant to use store restrooms if they are located in 'non-customer' areas.

If yes,  would you be less hesitant if a clearly visible 'restroom' sign in the customer area directed you there

 

WHILE ON TRAVEL

Do you or anyone in your family or those with whom you travel  ever avoid fluids as part of the daily commute to work

Do you or anyone in your family or those with whom you travel routinely avoid fluids as part the daily commute to work

When traveling with your family by car, how often is your decision to stop for food or gas affected by the need to find a restroom

When deciding to stop to use the restroom of a franchise food or fuel establishment does anticipated quality of restroom affect your choice.

Some restaurants, for example McDonalds,  have mutli-stall/urinal restrooms. Others have a single toilet in a room where those in line are locked out even while the current user is running the hand dryer.  .  

When deciding to stop to use the restroom of a franchise food or fuel establishment does the possibility of encountering an occupant locked restroom affect your choice.

Does the known certainty of finding an availability restroom ever influence your decision to stop at a mall or mega-store.

Occasionally Airline passengers are not allowed to use the airplane restrooms because of security or because there was not time to service the toilets from a previous flight.

 Has a security prohibition against use on an airline restroom ever been a problem.

While at an airport have you ever heard an announcement that the restrooms of an up-coming flight will not be available.  

If this happened on your flight, at what length [flight-time] would you consider it to be a hardship?

 

PRIVACY

How concerned are you when toilet stall door locks are not functional.

[male] Do you prefer urinal with privacy partitions?

[if yes] Is it important that partitions extend above eye sight lines. 

Do you ever feel trapped by overly deep partitions 

 

RESTROOMS THAT HAVE LOCKS ON THE ROOM ENTRANCE DOOR 

Have you ever had to wait for access to a locked restroom.

Do you ever have a problem (ex experience urgency) waiting to use a restroom.

Do you feel hesitation stress knowing that others are waiting for you to finish

 

UNISEX TOILETS

Are you willing to use a

[female] Are you willing to use a  unisex toilet with a urinal.

Are you willing to use a unisex lavatory [sinks] with separated sex water closets [commodes]

 

 MITIGATION

Do you or take any medications that reduce the need to use a restroom

Do you use products (ex pads) that reduce the need to use a restroom.  

 

ELECTIONS

If you believed a person seeking election would support policy that would lead to more modern, well designed public restrooms, how would it affect your decision to vote for that person

Does this issue affect your quality of life to a degree that you might support a candidate from outside your political party.
